'2024 Gumi Ramen Festival' to Be Held from November 1 to 3
Linked with Munhwaro, Geumridangil, and Geumosan Commercial Districts
Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province will host the 2024 Gumi Ramen Festival from November 1 to 3 along Yeokjeon-ro.
Celebrating its third edition this year, the city is preparing clear and original content centered around ramen, a favorite across all generations. The festival will feature quantitatively and qualitatively improved programs compared to last year, aiming to establish the ramen festival as a local content hub.
After its debut last year as the region's first urban festival, the Gumi Ramen Festival succeeded in both increasing visitor numbers and revitalizing local businesses. This year, the event will expand its footprint to Geumridan-gil and Geumosan shopping district, strengthening connections with local businesses so that the entire old downtown becomes energized by the ramen festival.
Unique food zones such as the Exotic Ramen Zone, World Ramen Competition, and Ramen Cooking King Zone will be available exclusively at the festival. Experience zones, including ramen cooking contests, recreational activities, and ramen story competitions, will be further upgraded to encourage active participation from citizens.
In addition, stay-type tourism programs linked to the festival, such as ramen-themed plays, ramen webtoons, and industrial tours, will be offered to attract tourists and showcase the festival's appeal.
The Gumi Ramen Festival has been recognized for its competitiveness by being selected as an Excellent Festival by North Gyeongsang Province for 2024-2025. Last December, the city established the "Ordinance on Support and Promotion of Gumi City Festivals," creating a systematic management framework for the festival.
In April, the city participated in a tourism expo in Hanoi, Vietnam?the world's number one ramen-consuming country?to actively promote the Gumi Ramen Festival, focusing administrative efforts on transforming it into a global event.
