Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province held a spring picnic for learners of the "Traveling Lantern Class" and "Uljin Bobaehakgyo" at Wangpicheon Park on the 14th.
This event was organized as part of Uljin County's adult literacy education cultural exploration program to encourage learners who are enthusiastically engaged in their studies.
About 180 participants, including adult literacy learners, spent the day experiencing a variety of programs during the spring picnic. They visited an aquarium, rode a cable car, participated in a "decorate your own eco-bag" activity, and finally, all the learners gathered together for a recreation session, creating unforgettable memories for the seniors.
County Governor Son Byeongbok said, "We will continue to expand opportunities for adult literacy education and develop various programs to promote social participation among seniors," adding, "I hope today's event serves as a chance for everyone to recharge for their future studies."
Since 2011, Uljin County has been providing adult literacy education for illiterate and low-educated individuals, and currently, about 190 learners are participating in classes at 11 locations.
