Prevented 115t Carbon Emissions in Q1... 'FastFive' Practices ESG Management

FastFive, the No. 1 office brand in Korea (CEO Kim Dae-il), announced on the 17th that it prevented approximately 115 tons of carbon emissions during the first quarter by actively practicing ESG management activities.

FastFive operates 44 branches, the largest scale in Korea, and as an office brand where more than 30,900 members spend over 8 hours a day, the amount of daily generated waste is also considerable.

To strengthen ESG, the first change FastFive made was in waste disposal methods, choosing recycling over incineration. To minimize carbon emissions, they selected partner companies from an environmentally friendly perspective rather than cost, significantly increasing the recycling rate.

In fact, during the first quarter, FastFive directly washed and sorted the recycled waste from all branches, preventing about 115 tons of carbon emissions. Proper recycling alone had the effect of planting approximately 14,400 trees. Recently, they have been making various attempts, such as switching products provided to members, like cereal spoons and coffee sticks, to eco-friendly wooden products to reduce plastic usage.

Moreover, FastFive is planning to produce upcycled products using the emitted plastic, continuously striving to create a virtuous cycle structure.

Kim Dae-il, CEO of FastFive, said, “These days, more than 8 out of 10 people in their 30s and 40s in Korea choose value consumption,” adding, “We will continue to try various challenges so that FastFive members can experience an eco-friendly daily life even in the office.”

Meanwhile, FastFive is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and is holding a historic “Big Sale Party” offering up to 50% discounts on offices.
