Gu to Host 2nd Dobong-gu Children's Safety Expo on May 20-21
Varied Activities Including Motion Shooting Fire Extinguisher Experience and VR Disaster Prevention
For Children Under 12, On-site Participation Without Prior Registration

A safety experience event for children will be held around Dobong-gu Office.

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that the "2nd Dobong-gu Children's Safety Expo" will be held from May 20 to 21 at Dobong-gu Office (plaza and inside the building).

Now in its second year, the Children's Safety Expo is a comprehensive safety experience event designed to raise children's safety awareness and spread a culture of safety within the community.

For this expo, the district boldly omitted formal events so that children could focus on hands-on activities, and diversified the program by reflecting feedback from last year's participants.

An official from the district stated, "We diversified the programs in connection with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Visiting Safety Experience Classroom' and enhanced the quality of the programs by involving related organizations."

The programs consist of 17 experience activities across five areas: daily safety, fire safety, traffic safety, natural disasters, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Activities range from using motion shooting recognition for fire extinguisher throwing experience, vehicle rollover and sudden stop safety experiences, to VR disaster prevention experiences.

The expo will be conducted on-site without prior registration, and any child aged 12 or under can participate.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "Repeated education and experiential learning about safety from an early age will shine in crisis situations," adding, "I hope the activities experienced at this expo will be of great help to our children when they face real-life situations."
