According to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on the 15th, Chairman Kim and his daughter Ju-ae attended the completion ceremony of Jeonwi Street held the previous day. Located in the northwest of Pyongyang, Jeonwi Street is part of the Seopo District project, one of the three major construction projects proposed by the Workers' Party of Korea last year.

The Seopo District project, including Jeonwi Street, aims to build a new town with 4,100 households and began in February last year. Unlike other construction sites, it has been carried out solely by so-called "youth volunteers" such as the Baekdusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade and the Speed Youth Shock Brigade.

At the completion ceremony, Chairman Kim personally cut the completion tape and praised the youth who participated in the construction. The news agency reported, "As the welcoming song played, when the respected Father and Leader arrived at the completion ceremony with his beloved daughter, a storm of cheers erupted," confirming the attendance of Kim Ju-ae. This marks Kim Ju-ae's first public appearance in two months since March.

Chairman Kim stated, "With a passionate army of youth who are loyal to the call of the motherland, sincere to society and the collective, and devoted to the future, the victory of building a socialist power is certain," and added, "I express my confidence that our youth will continue to demonstrate the wisdom and bravery of their youth in the capital construction and carve brilliant feats at the forefront of the era toward comprehensive national development," the news agency reported.

North Korea decided at the 2021 Party Congress to supply 50,000 new households over five years. Since then, in 2022, the Peace Songhwa Street and last year, the Pyongyang Hwaseong District were developed as key projects. The Seopo District, where this project took place, is an economically and politically underdeveloped area even within Pyongyang. It is interpreted as an attempt to gain support by developing and urbanizing this area.

In particular, Kim Jong-un's daughter Ju-ae appears to have played a symbolic role in marking the beginning and end of the development of this area by attending both the groundbreaking ceremony of the Seopo District in February last year and the recent completion ceremony of Jeonwi Street. Meanwhile, the completion ceremony started in the afternoon and continued with a nighttime commemorative performance. Chairman Kim and his daughter Ju-ae stayed for the commemorative performance as well.
