Carbon Zero Education Center and Gumo Land: Experiential Activities to Strengthen Family Bonds
On the 14th, the city of Gumi in North Gyeongsang Province held a family program for 25 Dream Start children and their caregivers, linking the Gumi Tourism City Tour with visits to the Eco Nuri Gumi Carbon Zero Education Center and Geumo Land.
This program was designed to strengthen the family bonds and attachment relationships of Dream Start children, who usually have limited opportunities for experiential activities.
The children experienced the causes of climate change, the reasons for carbon zero, and practical ways to implement it in daily life at the Carbon Zero Education Center, and enjoyed riding attractions such as the Ferris wheel at Geumo Land.
Caregiver Kim said, "It was a meaningful time to learn about climate change and carbon zero practices in a fun way through various activities. My child was happy to ride favorite attractions and take many photos."
Park Yongja, Head of the Child-Friendly Division, stated, "I hope families were able to make many memories together through various experiential activities outside of their daily routines. We will continue to provide tailored programs needed by Dream Start children and their families."
Gumi Dream Start supports the healthy growth and development of children from vulnerable backgrounds by providing customized integrated services in health, welfare, and childcare (education), ensuring equal starting opportunities so that they can grow into healthy and happy members of society.
