Yeongyang County in North Gyeongsang Province conducted ground wildfire suppression training at the Yeongyang County Public Sports Complex on May 12 and 13 to enhance the wildfire response capabilities of the county's specialized wildfire prevention and suppression team.
Yeongyang County conducted a ground firefighting training exercise for the mechanized wildfire system.
This training was an intensive drill utilizing a mechanized suppression system in response to a simulated wildfire scenario. It aimed to improve proficiency in initial response, monitoring of residual and smoldering fires, and overall practical response capabilities during wildfire outbreaks.
The mechanized suppression system refers to a complete set of ground wildfire equipment that enables rapid water supply for extinguishing wildfires, playing a crucial role in wildfire suppression.
The suppression training included the rapid and accurate installation and operation of suppression equipment, equipment inspection, and the establishment of a suppression system using the mechanized suppression system. Through this, the capabilities of the specialized wildfire prevention and suppression team to respond swiftly in the event of a wildfire disaster were assessed.
County Governor Oh Dochang stated, "We will thoroughly prepare for wildfires so that not a single wildfire occurs in Yeongyang County this year, and we will strive to ensure that our residents can feel safe from wildfire disasters."
