Homeplus Express Mokdong Branch Renovation... A Strategic Move as a 'Local Specialty Store'

Homeplus Express announced on the 15th that it will reopen the Mokdong branch after renovation. The Mokdong branch has been reborn as a ‘region-customized’ store curated based on customer big data.

The newly launched Homeplus Express Mokdong branch has refined its store layout by focusing on ▲increased demand for fresh and convenient food ▲the trend of ‘buying small amounts frequently.’

First, considering the commercial area’s characteristic of high demand for ‘one meal’ food, over 1,400 types of fresh food were carefully selected. Categories such as convenient deli and eco-friendly vegetables have increased up to 10 times compared to before. Reflecting the consumer trend of buying small amounts frequently, the number of small-quantity items was increased, and premium ham and fish cake, popular especially among younger customers, as well as popular alcoholic beverages (Makgeolli, imported beer, highball), and private brand (PB) items were each expanded by more than 30% compared to before.

Efforts were also made to innovate the store layout to create a pleasant environment. Bold changes were made to space arrangement, and product grouping displays were enhanced to strengthen its advantage as a nearby shopping channel.

By providing online immediate delivery service based at the Mokdong branch, synergy between online and offline channels and customer convenience were improved. Immediate delivery, operated in about 80% of the approximately 310 stores nationwide, is a quick commerce service that has achieved sales growth for three consecutive years since its launch in 2021, with sales in the last fiscal year increasing by more than 50% compared to the previous year.
