Shinan-gun Selected for SA Grade in National Local Government Heads' Pledge Implementation Evaluation in the 8th Elected Term

A Total of 81 Locations Selected with an Overall Rating of 83 Points or Higher and SA Grade

Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) announced on the 14th that it was selected as SA grade (highest excellence) in the final evaluation of the ‘2024 2nd Year Nationwide Basic Local Government Heads’ Pledge Implementation and Information Disclosure Evaluation’ conducted over about 90 days by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters on the 10th.

This evaluation was conducted to conduct a mid-term check on the election pledge implementation performance of 226 basic local government heads nationwide and to explore urgent regional issues and response measures. The Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters analyzed data disclosed on the city, county, and district office websites for the first evaluation, and reviewed explanations and supplementary materials to announce the final evaluation results.

The evaluation items included △ pledge implementation completion field △ 2023 goal achievement field △ resident communication field △ web communication field △ consistency field. Detailed indicators for each field were evaluated, converted into a total score out of 100 points, and 226 basic local governments nationwide were classified into grades A to F, including 81 places with SA grade scoring 83 points or higher (28 cities, 19 counties, 34 districts).

Governor Park Woo-ryang stated, “To ensure that the pledges, which are promises to the residents, can be smoothly promoted, we will continuously check and supplement the pledge implementation performance together with public officials, residents, and the pledge implementation evaluation team, and do our best to fulfill all pledges within the term.”

Shinan-gun plans to hold a pledge implementation evaluation report meeting in the first half of 2024, prepare related special lectures, and faithfully implement the pledges of the 8th local government term. In addition, it will establish various measures for residents to participate in the realization of pledges and aims to achieve the goal (100% pledge implementation rate) within the term.

Meanwhile, Shinan-gun has previously been selected for the ‘Excellence Award’ in the 2022 Manifesto (local election section) Promise Awards hosted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, ‘A grade’ in the 2023 8th local government nationwide basic local government heads’ pledge implementation plan evaluation, and ‘Grand Prize’ in the 2023 Nationwide Basic Local Government Heads Manifesto Best Practice Contest.
