Varied Events Including Performances, Fireworks Festival, and Competitions from 7th to 9th
National Pukyong University (President Jang Young-su), celebrating its centennial anniversary, held an exciting ‘Daedongje’ festival to commemorate 100 years of its founding.
The ‘Daedongje,’ held as a spring festival from the 7th to the 9th, was larger in scale than in previous years to mark the 100th anniversary. Students, international students, alumni, and local residents came together to enjoy performances, a fireworks festival, and competitions.
Fireworks are being displayed at the 100th Anniversary Grand Festival of the National Pukyong University.
Organized by the National Pukyong University Student Council (President Kim Min-jae) under the theme ‘100 Years Achieved Together, 100 Years to Achieve Together,’ various programs such as △Family Game Room △Pukyong Stocking △Fantastic Duo △University War △Flea Market were held.
A fireworks festival celebrating the 100th anniversary took place, and invited singer Heize, an alumnus, visited her alma mater to deliver a mini-concert-level performance lasting about an hour, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.
At the 100th Anniversary Grand Festival of the National Pukyong University, a performance by a guest singer is taking place.
At the 100th Anniversary Grand Festival of Pukyong National University, traditional performances by international students are being held.
In the ‘Family Game Room’ corner, alumni from the general alumni association and current students spent time together, and a ‘Flea Market’ involving local residents was also held. Students and staff enjoyed a ‘Club Sports Competition,’ and international students showcased their traditional costumes and performances from their home countries in the ‘Talent Contest.’
Club performances, department cultural street events, and a 100-won coffee event by the cooperative were also conducted. An amusement park featuring slides, multi-bounce, and playing bounce was set up and operated on the main athletic field.
National Pukyong University also organized and operated a safety guard team involving students, faculty, alumni, and local residents to ensure safety at the festival venue.
Kim Tae-gyu, Director of Student Affairs, said, “We expect this to be an opportunity not only to celebrate the 100th anniversary with the university community but also with the local area, and for National Pukyong University to contribute more to the development of regional culture.”
