Boryeong City Supplies City Gas to 1,600 Households in Ungcheon-eup

JB Co., Ltd. and Ungcheon-eup Sign Urban Gas Supply Agreement

City gas will be supplied to over 1,600 households in Ungcheon-eup, Boryeong-si, Chungnam, where the supply of city gas had faced difficulties due to lack of economic feasibility. This project is one of the key campaign promises of Mayor Kim Dong-il in the 8th local government term.

On the 14th, the city signed a business agreement with JB Co., Ltd. at the Chungnam Provincial Office to supply city gas to Ungcheon-eup, and decided to invest a total project cost of 22 billion KRW over three years from next year until 2027 to install 35.4 km of new pipelines.

The city has taken a step closer to becoming a clean energy city by supplying city gas, which had been a long-standing wish of local residents.

It also expects to improve the living conditions of local residents, realize energy welfare, and revitalize the local economy through increased tourists at Muchangpo Beach and attracting companies to the Ungcheon General Industrial Complex.

Mayor Kim Dong-il said, “Starting with the supply of city gas to Ungcheon-eup, we will do our best to eliminate energy welfare gaps so that all Boryeong citizens can use safe and economical energy.”
