The Daejeon Job and Economic Promotion Agency announced that it will dispatch trade delegations three times this year, starting with Eastern Europe, to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) develop new sales channels.
The trade delegations will focus on consumer goods, beauty, and machinery/heavy equipment sectors. Participating companies will receive support through collaboration with KOTRA trade offices, including securing overseas buyers, one-on-one export consultations, interpretation services, and partial airfare support for one traveler per company.
From April 21 to 27, the Eastern Europe consumer goods trade delegation, held in Sofia, Bulgaria, and Vienna, Austria, included seven companies from Daejeon. They conducted 80 consultations with local distribution buyers and achieved export consultation and contract promotion results worth $1,165,000.
From the 19th to the 29th of this month, five companies will participate in the European beauty trade delegation visiting Madrid, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; and Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In June, a machinery and heavy equipment trade delegation consisting of six companies will be dispatched to S?o Paulo, Brazil, and Mexico City, Mexico.
Baek Woon-gyo, director of the Daejeon Job and Economic Promotion Agency, stated, “We will spare no effort to support the expansion of exports by dispatching trade delegations specialized in promising market countries to local companies that need export diversification.”
