60 Million Won Wando Love Gift Certificates Distributed to 10,099 Farmers and Fishermen
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 14th that it has confirmed 10,099 recipients of this year's public interest allowance for farmers and fishermen, and plans to pay a total of over 6 billion KRW, with 600,000 KRW per person.
The public interest allowance for farmers and fishermen is a project implemented to maintain and enhance the public value of agriculture, fisheries, and rural areas, and to promote the livelihood stability of farmers and fishermen.
In Wando-gun, after receiving applications in February, the eligibility of the payment recipients was verified in March, and the recipients were finalized through the review of the 'Wando-gun Farmers and Fishermen Public Interest Allowance Committee.'
With the full-scale farming season underway, the county decided to pay the public interest allowance for farmers and fishermen entirely in Wando Sarang gift certificates starting from the 16th to ease the economic burden on farmers and fishermen.
Farmers and fishermen confirmed as recipients can receive the allowance at financial institutions under their jurisdiction by bringing the public interest allowance receipt distributed at the eup/myeon offices and a valid ID (resident registration card, driver's license) for identity verification.
The gift certificates can be collected at NongHyup, SuHyup, ChukHyup, Gwangju Bank, the Forestry Cooperative, ShinHyup, and Saemaeul Geumgo.
This year, if the recipient is temporarily unable to receive the public interest allowance directly due to reasons such as hospitalization, a direct ascendant/descendant or household member can receive it on their behalf after confirmation by the eup/myeon head.
The Wando Sarang gift certificates issued this time are policy-issued and can be used at markets, marts, restaurants, and even at businesses with annual sales exceeding 3 billion KRW.
A county official said, "We hope that the public interest allowance for farmers and fishermen will help stabilize the management of farmers and fishermen and revitalize the local economy, even if only a little."
