Providing 1 Year Supply of 'Carbo Buldak Bokkeummyeon'
NYT "Buldak Quickly Sells Out Through Word of Mouth"
An American girl who shed tears after receiving the domestic ramen product 'Carbo Buldak Bokkeummyeon' as a birthday gift became the luckier recipient of an even bigger surprise. The manufacturer, Samyang Foods, personally gifted her dozens of the same product.
On the 12th (local time), a TikTok account under the name 'Rina' shared two videos. The videos featured the girl who had previously cried over Carbo Buldak Bokkeummyeon.
The video begins with the girl opening the door. In front of the entrance stood a person wearing a mascot costume of 'Hochi,' the Buldak Bokkeummyeon character, and a car decorated with the Carbo Buldak packaging design. Staff members wearing pink T-shirts with the English word 'Buldak' were also present.

The girl stood with her mouth open, seemingly unable to believe the scene before her eyes, then shortly after, she shed tears and embraced 'Hochi.' Soon after, the car door opened, revealing boxes filled with Buldak Bokkeummyeon inside.
Another video showed the backyard of the girl's house, where a so-called 'Buldak Bokkeummyeon party' was taking place. Dozens of Carbo Buldak Bokkeummyeon-related products were displayed. When her family asked, "Are you happy?" the girl nodded repeatedly.
A Samyang Foods representative appeared holding a sign that read, "With gratitude to our number one Buldak fan, Adaline." He declared, "We came all the way from Korea to meet you. We will provide you with Buldak Bokkeummyeon for a year," prompting cheers from the girl's family who were watching.
The girl, Adaline, who is the main character of the video, gained global attention last month with a so-called 'Buldak unboxing' video. The video captured Adaline shedding tears of joy upon receiving Carbo Buldak as a birthday gift.
The video has been viewed over 60 million times in about a month and received more than 7.9 million 'likes.' Netizens reacted by saying things like, "I want to buy and send 100 boxes of Buldak," "So cute," and "I hope she stays happy," after seeing Adaline's pure reaction.
It is reported that a 'Buldak syndrome' has recently been sweeping the United States. The American daily newspaper The New York Times (NYT) even published an article highlighting Adaline's video. Additionally, famous American rapper Cardi B attracted attention with a video tasting Carbo Buldak and praising it as an "interesting product." NYT described Buldak Bokkeummyeon as "a Korean instant ramen pack with spicy contents inside pink packaging," noting that it is "quickly selling through word of mouth."
