Busan City Hosts 'Global Healthcare Week' 2024 Global Healthcare Week Information.

The event is hosted by the city and organized by BEXCO, Busan Ilbo, and Busan Technopark, with support from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute.

"Global Healthcare Week" is an event that simultaneously holds three related exhibitions to support the development of welfare rehabilitation, anti-aging, and beauty industries as well as overseas market expansion. This is the 7th edition and has become Busan's representative comprehensive exhibition and experience event in the healthcare sector.

The three exhibitions are the "16th International Welfare Rehabilitation Senior Exhibition," the "11th Busan International Anti-Aging Expo," and the "2024 Busan Cosmetics Beauty Festival."

This year, about 150 companies, similar to last year, will participate, operating a total of around 400 booths with diverse themes. By sector, there are ▲40 organizations in welfare and rehabilitation including Dr. Q Medics ▲52 organizations in anti-aging including Miga Trading ▲35 organizations in cosmetics and beauty including JK INC.

In the welfare and rehabilitation sector, Busan companies such as Dr. Q Medics (ankle pump automatic exercise device iRobot Foot), General Net (incontinence treatment device Body Doctor), Dong-Eui University Biohealth Innovation Convergence College, and Busan National University Color Modulation Ultra-Sensory Cognition Technology Leading Research Center are participating.

In the anti-aging sector, participants include Miga Trading (the first domestic "needle-free syringe"), Asan S&T (functional insoles applying graphite, a high thermal conductivity material), and All-in-One Jintech (PDRN, a regenerative medical material extracted from seaweed).

In the cosmetics and beauty sector, visitors can purchase and experience various products. JK INC provides customized cosmetics on the spot with the automatic cosmetics dispenser "Skin MBTI," and Hesol exhibits the hair dye "Jayeon Emdeulida" and conducts scalp hair loss tests.

Especially this year, new types of side events compared to previous years will be held, including ▲Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) export consultation ▲Healthcare distribution consultation ▲Makeup show ▲Beauty contest ▲Expert lectures.

The KOTRA export consultation will be conducted through a "walk-in" method where overseas buyers visit booths directly and through a "buyer lounge." Participating companies will have the opportunity to consult with buyers from 30 overseas companies from countries such as China and Singapore to explore overseas sales channels.

The healthcare distribution consultation, organized by the Korea Medical Device Distribution Association, will set up a "distribution consultation hall" inside the exhibition hall, where participating companies can seek opportunities to develop the domestic distribution market through consultations with 15 distribution specialist buyers affiliated with the association.

The makeup show, hosted by the Korea Makeup Beauty Association, will feature experts in makeup, hair, and nail art demonstrating makeup techniques and usage to visitors. In the expert lectures, top medical professionals from each field will give talks to thoroughly address visitors' health-related questions.

The opening ceremony will be held at BEXCO at 2 p.m. on the first day of the event, the 16th, featuring an awards ceremony for contributors to the development of the elderly-friendly bioindustry and cosmetics beauty industry, as well as a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening.

Park Dong-seok, Director of the Advanced Industry Bureau of Busan City, said, "Welfare rehabilitation, anti-aging, and beauty industries are fields where Busan can have global competitiveness. Through this 7th 'Global Healthcare Week,' we hope participating companies achieve substantial sales growth and further revitalize the local economy." He added, "Our city will continue to make various efforts to promote excellent products of local companies and help them develop sales channels."
