Also Usable as Jokgu Court... Safety Accident Prevention with Urethane Floor, Fence, and Net Installation
Opening Ceremony Held on the 11th, District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho: "We Will Strive to Promote Physical Activities for a Healthy Daily Life"
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has newly renovated the idle land of Jayang Rainwater Pump Station into a community sports facility called 'Jayang Retention Basin Multipurpose Field.'
The multipurpose field located in Jayang 2-dong covers an area of 1,023㎡. It features one futsal court that can also be used as a jokgu (Korean foot volleyball) court. With a budget of 140 million KRW from the district, the space was transformed into a sports facility for residents after more than eight months of effort.
Special attention was paid to facility safety. A durable urethane floor was installed to enhance injury prevention. Additionally, security CCTV, fences, nets, and resting benches were installed to improve the environment.
At the opening ceremony held on the 11th, about 100 people including Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, and representatives from the Gwangjin-gu Futsal Federation (President Jang Sung-dae) attended. After a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening, they thoroughly inspected the facility together to check for any areas needing improvement.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “As interest in health increases these days, we created the multipurpose field to provide more opportunities for community sports. We will continue to strive to improve sports facilities so that people can enjoy leisure activities in a safe and pleasant space.”
