Expanded by 2 Sessions Compared to Last Year... Total of 7 Sessions
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education will operate the 2nd "Student Outdoor Busking" in seven sessions until June 8.
According to the Office of Education on the 13th, the first "Student Outdoor Busking" of this year was held at 4:30 PM on the 11th at the outdoor performance venue in Penguin Village, Yangnim-dong, Nam-gu.
Amid the passionate enthusiasm of participating students, a variety of performances such as Gayageum Byeongchang, trot, dance, and band were presented starting with the opening performance. Despite rain during the event, a considerable number of citizens stayed in the audience, cheering and keeping the energy alive until the end.
The "Student Outdoor Busking" program, which started for the first time last year, is an arts participation program open to all youth, including students and out-of-school teenagers. It has achieved great success through the enthusiastic participation of students with diverse talents and the Gwangju education community.
This year, the "Student Outdoor Busking" has been expanded from five sessions last year to a total of seven. Along with passionate performances by students with talents in various artistic fields such as K-Pop dance, band, vocal, instrumental, and samulnori, various audience participation events are also prepared to create a festival everyone can enjoy.
The upcoming "Student Outdoor Busking" events will be held at safe and accessible outdoor venues throughout Gwangju with the cooperation of each district office.
The upcoming schedule is as follows: ▲ Seo-gu ? 22nd (Wed) 17:30 at Youth Square Outdoor Plaza, 25th (Sat) 16:30 at Kim Dae-jung Convention Center Outdoor Performance Venue ▲ Gwangsan-gu ? 29th (Wed) 17:30 at Suwan Lake Park Outdoor Performance Venue ▲ Dong-gu ? June 1st (Sat) 16:30 at ACC 5·18 Democracy Square, 5th (Wed) 17:30 at ACC Sky Yard ▲ Buk-gu ? June 8th (Sat) 16:30 at Biennale Outdoor Venue.
Superintendent Lee Jeong-seon said, “Our Office of Education has consistently supported the establishment of a cultural and artistic foundation that everyone can enjoy, aiming for diversity education where everyone's dreams come true. Following last year, we have actively supported student-centered and student-led artistic activities, creating opportunities for many students to showcase their diverse talents and artistic abilities through programs such as ‘Student Outdoor Busking,’ ‘Gwangtalpe (Gwangju Student Talent Festival),’ and ‘Gwangju School Arts Education Festival.’”
He added, “I would like to invite all members of the Gwangju education family to every stage filled with students’ diverse talents and abilities.”
