99 Promises: 40 Completed, 54 Projects Progressing Smoothly
Ulsan Ulju-gun announced on the 13th that it received the highest grade (SA) in the ‘2024 2nd Year of the 8th Local Government Heads’ Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation’ conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, and was selected as the best institution for two consecutive years.
The Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters evaluated pledge fulfillment performance in five areas as of the end of December last year: ▲Pledge fulfillment completion (100 points) ▲Achievement of last year’s goals (100 points) ▲Resident communication (transparency and democracy in the pledge fulfillment process, information provision, etc.) (100 points) ▲Web communication ▲Pledge consistency.
Since the launch of the 8th local government, Ulju-gun has conducted a fair pledge fulfillment evaluation through a randomly selected resident jury panel and secured residents’ accessibility and democracy in pledge fulfillment by posting pledge maps and pledge progress on the Ulju-gun website.
Out of a total of 99 pledge projects, 40 projects closely related to residents’ daily lives, such as transportation cost support for pregnant women, operation support for daycare centers for zero-year-olds, operation of the Haetteumi Baro Call Center, and installation of the Gukhwa Civil Service Center, were promptly completed.
Additionally, 54 projects, including the further expansion of the Comprehensive Childcare Support Center, strengthening the self-reliance foundation for vulnerable groups, support for funeral expenses for residents, construction of the Integrated Food Support Center, expansion of crop disaster insurance, and establishment of Ulju County Hospital, are being smoothly promoted, achieving an overall pledge fulfillment rate of 58.4%.
Lee Soon-geol, the mayor of Ulju-gun, said, “We will do our best to ensure that the pledges for Ulju residents do not remain mere promises but become administration that permeates daily life and is felt by the people.”
Ulju-gun is actively implementing pledges, having also won an excellence award at last year’s pledge best practice competition.
