Geochang-gun Opens Strawberry Class for Returning Farmers and Migrants Agricultural College This Year

A to Z of Strawberry Hydroponic Cultivation

It was announced on the 13th that the Strawberry Class of the Returning Farmers and Returnees Farming College (hereinafter referred to as the Farming College) has started at the Future Agriculture Complex Education Center located in the Agricultural Technology Center of Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam.


On this day, the opening ceremony and education were held with the participation of 35 returning farmers and hopeful returnees dreaming of success in strawberry cultivation, along with the Director of the Happy Rural Division and education officials.


Geochang-gun Opens Strawberry Class for Returning Farmers and Migrants Agricultural College This Year Geochang-gun is conducting the 2024 Strawberry Class education for the Returning to Farming and Rural Living Agricultural College.

The Farming College plans to invite professional instructors to provide education covering everything from the basics of hydroponic strawberry cultivation, pest and disease management, pre- and post-transplant care techniques, to promotion and branding of strawberries, covering all stages from cultivation to sales.


The education will take place in the training room of the Future Agriculture Complex Education Center in Geochang-gun, starting on May 10 and continuing until November 8, with a total of 15 sessions and 60 hours. Farmers who complete more than 45 hours out of the 60 hours of education will be awarded a graduation certificate and will receive various benefits such as incentives when applying for various agricultural and forestry projects.


Gwak Chil-sik, Director of the Happy Rural Division, said, “Through this education, we hope that the production of high-quality strawberries will be established and that each farm will have a good opportunity to become the best strawberry farm representing our county.” He added, “We will strive to conduct farming technology education needed by returning farmers and returnees through annual surveys on education demand by crop.”
