Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 13th that the "21st Green Barley Field Festival," held under the theme "Green Wave Music Note" from the 20th of last month to the 12th of this month, concluded successfully.
Gochang County successfully concluded the 21st Gochang Green Barley Field Festival, held from the 20th of last month to the 12th of this month.
Starting with the opening ceremony on the first day of the festival, the event expanded programs that could attract the interest of children and younger generations to increase participation across all age groups, including the ▲K-POP Random Play Dance Contest ▲Treasure Hunt ▲Children's Barley Grain Playground operation.
During the 23-day festival period, approximately 380,000 people visited the Gochang Green Barley Field, continuing its reputation as the number one scenic agricultural site.
Many of these tourists continued their journey to Gochang-gun’s famous spots such as Gushipo and Dongho Beaches, Seonunsan Provincial Park, and Moyangseong (Gochang Eupseong), greatly contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
In particular, the county promoted on-site issuance of Gochang Love Gift Certificates through cooperation with the local bank, Seonunsan Nonghyup, aiming to reduce tourists' expenses and stimulate the local economy.
The Gochang Love Gift Certificates were issued at a 10% discount from the face value, and during the festival period, restaurants and lodging businesses participated by offering an additional 5-10% discount, receiving high praise from individual and group tourists.
County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “We thank the residents and tourists who visited the festival site. The successful festival has become a strength that can make Gochang-gun itself a brand and has greatly contributed to regional development. We ask for your continued support and participation in the upcoming ‘Bokbunja and Watermelon Festival’ and ‘Moyangseong Festival.’”
