Mr. Blue Merges Web Novel Subsidiaries... "Maximizing Synergy in Content Production Division"

Mr. Blue, an online comics and webtoon specialist company, announced on the 13th that it has decided to merge its web novel subsidiaries, Days Enter (formerly Dong-A Media) and Video Publishing Media.

Mr. Blue aims to expand synergy in content production and improve cost efficiency by merging leading domestic web novel production companies. With this merger, Days Enter will remain as the surviving company, while Video Publishing Media will be dissolved. The merger date is set for July 1 of this year.

A company representative stated, "After acquiring the web novel subsidiaries, we secured high-quality intellectual property (IP) and laid the foundation for external growth through various works. Through this merger, we plan to reorganize the structure, establish a unified reporting system, and reduce fixed costs to improve profit margins."

In 2022, Mr. Blue diversified its business into the web novel sector by acquiring 80% stakes in both Days Enter and Video Publishing Media. Subsequently, by relocating to an integrated headquarters building, the company established a vertically integrated webtoon production system covering content development, planning, and publishing.

Days Enter and Video Publishing Media are leading domestic web novel producers with diverse genres such as romance, fantasy, and martial arts. Days Enter supplies romance web novels to various platforms including KakaoPage, Naver, and Ridibooks, while Video Publishing Media provides fantasy and martial arts genre webtoons and web novels to Kakao and Naver Series.
