'Youth Activity Mileage System' Implemented for the First Time This Year... Busan City Expands Youth Participation in City Administration 'Youth Activity Mileage Program' Poster.

The ‘Youth Activity Mileage System,’ implemented for the first time this year, awards mileage points for youth participation in city administration activities, which can be converted into Dongbaekjeon points, the local currency of Busan.

Any Busan youth aged 18 to 39 can participate, and individuals can accumulate up to 100,000 mileage points (100,000 points) annually.

Participants receive 10,000 mileage points just for their initial application.

The city plans to award mileage points for activities such as ▲promoting Youth G-Day (sharing city youth policy posts on social networking services) ▲visiting youth spaces and writing reviews ▲participating in and reviewing city-led education sessions, briefings, and forums.

In particular, to spread a culture of sharing in daily life and activate youth volunteer participation, 10,000 mileage points will be awarded for volunteering activities organized by the city (including affiliated institutions and business offices) and youth spaces.

To this end, Busan Youth Center and other youth spaces in the city and districts (a total of 26 locations) will be registered as volunteer demand sites, and volunteer programs tailored to the characteristics of each space will be actively developed to encourage youth volunteering.

For volunteer activities lasting more than 4 hours, 10,000 mileage points will be awarded (up to 50,000 mileage points), and a certificate issued by the 1365 Volunteer Portal must be submitted.

Mileage accumulation applications can be made through the Busan Youth Platform, where participants can also check mileage accumulation items and criteria.

After participating in online or offline city administration activities, participants can apply for mileage accumulation, and then apply to convert the accumulated mileage into Dongbaekjeon points on the Busan Youth Platform.

The first conversion to Dongbaekjeon points is possible after accumulating at least 30,000 mileage points, and thereafter, conversion applications can be made in units of 10,000 mileage points.

The usage period is five years from the date of issuance, and the awarded points can be used at Dongbaekjeom affiliated stores within Busan.

Nam Jeong-eun, the city’s Youth Industry-Academic Policy Officer, stated, “To make Busan a ‘young and hopeful vibrant city,’ it is necessary for Busan’s youth to have interest and participation in city administration,” adding, “We hope for active participation from young people in this year’s inaugural ‘Youth Activity Mileage System.’”
