Nowon-gu Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends the 2nd Gyeongchun Line Gongneung Forest Trail Coffee Festival

Nowon-gu Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends the 2nd Gyeongchun Line Gongneung Forest Trail Coffee Festival

On the 12th at noon, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the '2nd Gyeongchun Line Gongneung Forest Coffee Festival' held at the intersection of Gongneung Station and Dongbu Apartment.

Now in its second year, the coffee festival expanded this year to a car-free zone covering approximately 680 meters, including the Gyeongchun Line forest path from Line 7 Gongneung Station to Dongbu Apartment intersection, considering the high response from residents last year.

The event featured ▲ booths and coffee culture experiences from 18 coffee bean producing countries ▲ booths from major local cafes in Gongneung-dong, desserts, and famous domestic cafes ▲ exhibitions of works themed on local food and coffee ▲ performances and coffee blind tests.

At the main stage set up in front of Gongneung Station, baristas demonstrated coffee brewing, and performances by singer Kim Ki-tae and the band Travel Sketch elevated the festival atmosphere.

In particular, the participation of embassies from famous coffee-producing countries such as Guatemala, Kenya, and El Salvador, along with experiences like taking photos in traditional El Salvadoran costumes and Colombian coffee brewing experiences, provided residents with unique cultural experiences and added enjoyment.

Lee Jeong-eun (33, Sanggye-dong), a resident of Nowon District who participated in the festival, said, “I came out because I heard about the festival themed around 'coffee,' which I usually like, held near my home, and I was surprised by the large crowd. The best part was being able to taste various coffees such as Kenyan and Guatemalan beans.”

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, said, “I am pleased that many residents came out to enjoy the coffee festival despite the schedule being postponed due to rain. I hope this coffee festival will help promote the charm of Gongneung-dong and serve as an opportunity to develop it into a representative commercial area for leisure culture centered around coffee.”
