Sale of over 130 types of products including goods
Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 13th that it will hold a pop-up store of YouTuber ‘Chimchakman’ titled ‘Godcheongja Infiltration Studio Invitation’ at the event hall on the B1 floor of the Gangnam branch until the 23rd. Chimchakman is a popular channel with 2.44 million subscribers, run by the famous webtoon artist ‘Imalnyeon’ (real name Lee Byung-geon).
This pop-up store sells over 130 newly produced items including Chimchakman’s popular goods. There are short-sleeve T-shirts priced between 20,000 and 30,000 KRW, acrylic phone grips and keyrings around 10,000 KRW, poster books priced at 50,000 KRW, and milk cups priced between 10,000 and 20,000 KRW, created in collaboration with the clothing brand ‘Eolleongttungttang Sangjeom’ run by Chimchakman’s younger sister, YouTuber ‘Tongdakcheonsa’.
The event attracted tremendous attention from subscribers and fans even before it started. The temporary Instagram account (@chim_chungja) created to announce the pop-up store surpassed 23,000 followers. On the first day of the pop-up on the 10th, more than 300 people lined up before the store opened, creating a huge crowd with an ‘open run’ event.
Lee Eun-young, head of lifestyle at Shinsegae Department Store, said, “This event is significant as it is Shinsegae Department Store’s first pop-up store in collaboration with a YouTuber creator,” adding, “Shinsegae, which is evolving beyond a department store into a content creator, will continue to showcase differentiated content through various collaborations in the future.”
