Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will recruit a total of 252 participants for the '2024 Second Half Seoul Companion Job Project' from the 13th to the 22nd.
The 'Seoul Companion Job Project' is a program aimed at providing direct employment to the unemployed and low-income vulnerable employment groups to support their livelihood and help them become self-reliant.
The recruitment fields include 34 projects such as meal support at free meal centers, library cleaning projects, park maintenance, and Anyangcheon riverside maintenance projects. It is promoted as a 'self-help' based project where vulnerable participants help other vulnerable groups.
Eligibility requirements are Geumcheon-gu residents aged 18 or older with the ability to work as of the project start date (July 1, 2024), who are unemployed or daily workers without regular income, and whose combined household property listed on the resident registration certificate is 499 million KRW or less. Detailed eligibility criteria, working conditions, and application forms can be found in the 'Notices and Announcements' section on the Geumcheon-gu Office website.
Residents wishing to participate should visit their local community service center with identification, an application form, and a consent form for the collection and use of personal information to apply. However, recipients of unemployment benefits and those whose combined household income exceeds 80% of the median income are not eligible to participate.
The district will review applicants' property status, number of dependents, number of public job participations, and exclusion criteria, and announce the final successful candidates on June 26 on the 'Geumcheon News' section of the Geumcheon-gu Office website, with individual notifications from the project department.
The final successful candidates will work at project sites such as Geumcheon-gu Office, welfare centers, and libraries from July 1 to December 20, 2024. They will work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, with a daily wage of 56,000 KRW including meal expenses. However, participants aged 65 or older will work 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, receiving a daily wage of 36,000 KRW including meal expenses.
Additionally, participants will be mandatorily enrolled in the four major social insurances and will receive safety and labor education, sexual harassment prevention education, workplace bullying prevention education, and health checkups to ensure safety and health management.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "We plan to provide quality jobs to vulnerable groups and strengthen participants' employment capabilities through employment counseling and job fairs," adding, "We will continue to expand various jobs in the region to contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
