The 62nd Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival Special Cultural Exhibition
Until the 19th, Saemaeul Undong Theme Park Planned Exhibition Hall
Gumi City in Gyeongbuk Province is hosting the "Exhibition of Past Winners of the Korea Jeongsu Grand Exhibition" at the Saemaeul Movement Theme Park Exhibition Hall's Special Exhibition Room until the 19th, organized by the Korea Jeongsu Culture and Arts Institute (Chairman Yoon Jeonghae).
This exhibition is a special cultural event planned to provide citizens with the opportunity to enjoy excellent artworks in celebration of the 62nd Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival held in Gumi City from May 10 to 13. It features over 60 selected outstanding works from past winners of the Korea Jeongsu Grand Exhibition, categorized by fields (fine arts, calligraphy & literary painting, photography).
Mayor Kim Jang-ho said, "In celebration of the 62nd Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival, we hope this exhibition, prepared for Gumi citizens as well as athletes and tourists visiting Gumi City, will offer a chance to enjoy outstanding works from the Jeongsu Grand Exhibition, a representative national art competition, all in one place."
Marking its 25th anniversary this year, the Korea Jeongsu Grand Exhibition is a nationwide event that receives over 2,000 submissions annually. It began in 2000 with the first exhibition aiming to elevate the lives and philosophies of President Park Chung-hee and First Lady Yuk Young-soo through art, and has been successfully held every year since.
