Russian President Vladimir Putin has re-nominated former Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin as the first prime minister of his 'fifth term' in office.
On the 10th (local time), according to Bloomberg News and others, Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Russian State Duma, confirmed this fact via Telegram.
Former Prime Minister Mishustin is scheduled to appear before the State Duma starting at 2 p.m. At this session, Mishustin is expected to receive policy questions from lawmakers regarding demographics, economic development, and strengthening national defense.
President Putin began his fifth term with the inauguration ceremony on the 7th. Accordingly, appointments and approvals of senior executive officials, including deputy prime ministers and ministers, are expected to follow. Despite some government reshuffling, former Prime Minister Mishustin has been regarded as a strong candidate for prime minister in the fifth term.
Bloomberg News predicted, "Announcements regarding other government personnel will also continue within a few days."
