Last Year at Sugar Concert Mentioned "My Most Cherished Song"
BTS leader RM raises anticipation for his comeback with a pre-release track.
On the 10th, his agency Big Hit Music announced that RM will simultaneously release his new song "Come back to me" worldwide at 1 PM (KST). "Come back to me" is the pre-release track from RM's second solo album "Right Place, Wrong Person," which will be released on the 24th.
Previously, RM surprised fans by performing this song as a guest on stage at SUGA's encore concert "SUGA | Agust D TOUR ‘D-DAY’ THE FINAL," held last August at KSPO DOME in Songpa-gu, Seoul. At that time, RM explained, "After finishing the solo album 'Indigo,' I am preparing the next project. This song does not even have a title yet, but it is one of my most cherished tracks."
Released as a digital single after 9 months, "Come back to me" is an indie pop track with the theme "Everything comes back. Maybe not everything, though." RM reflects on the main theme of the new album, "right and wrong," exploring the contradictory emotions of people who want to challenge something new but at the same time want to settle in reality.
"Come back to me" was written by RM, composed and arranged by Oh Hyuk of the band Hyukoh, and features Kuo (Guoguo) from the Taiwanese five-member band Sunset Rollercoaster on guitar and bass sessions. Additionally, singer-songwriters JNKYRD and San Yawn from Barming Tiger, both members of the "TEAM RM" assembled for the new album, are credited.
The production team behind the "Come back to me" music video also draws attention. Directed, produced, and scripted by Lee Sung-jin, who directed Netflix's "The Angry Man," the video was created through the collaboration of art director Ryu Sung-hee, who worked on films such as "Decision to Leave" and "Assassination," and cinematographer Kim Woo-hyung, known for "1987" and "Late Autumn."
RM's second solo album "Right Place, Wrong Person" includes a total of 11 tracks, including "Come back to me." The album deals with moments when one feels like a stranger "out of place" and is filled with alternative genre music boasting rich sound.
