Chungbuk Research Institute Policy Seminar
Ko Pyung-seok, CEO of Exem, a company specializing in IT performance management, attended the "2024 Policy Seminar for the Activation of Data-Driven Administrative Services" held at the Chungbuk Research Institute on the 8th and presented Exem's AI and big data-based administrative improvement cases as well as data-driven administrative service plans for Chungbuk.
The Chungbuk Research Institute jointly held the seminar with four organizations: the Chungbuk Policy Development Center, Chungcheongbuk-do, Chungbuk Institute of Science and Technology Innovation, and Chungbuk Technopark.
CEO Ko Pyung-seok highlighted government policies on AI, big data, and cloud under the theme "No Administration Without ABC (AI, Bigdata, Cloud)." He stated, "Despite the government's fiscal expenditure reduction trend, investment in big data and artificial intelligence sectors increased from 1.9 trillion KRW in 2022 to 2.5 trillion KRW this year."
He continued, "The digital platform government budget, which includes AI, big data, and cloud, increased by 123% year-on-year to 938.6 billion KRW this year," adding, "Various institutions and local governments are actively advancing the digital transformation of public services for citizens, including administration, welfare, and disaster management."
Furthermore, he said, "While promoting public service improvements for next-generation projects and new technology adoption, Exem is actively responding as a company equipped with AI, big data, and cloud technologies." Exem is carrying out the construction project of Seoul City's big data service platform (Phase 3) to enable Seoul citizens to conveniently utilize data. They plan to complete the first ultra-large AI-based citizen search service among local governments.
CEO Ko introduced AI and big data-based administrative innovation cases carried out by Exem. He presented the big data integrated platform construction case that established a foundation for large-scale power data integration analysis and utilization within Korea Electric Power Corporation, and the intelligent energy management system construction case based on big data for energy-saving services at domestic high-energy-consuming business sites by the Korea Energy Agency.
At the end of his presentation, CEO Ko proposed measures for digital innovation in Chungcheongbuk-do. He mentioned the high potential for development as an urban agriculture base due to Chungbuk's regional characteristics where urban and rural areas coexist, and suggested the need for a future urban agriculture model to revitalize smart urban agriculture.
