Content company Dexter Studio announced on the 9th that its sound-specialized subsidiary LiveTone received the Artistic Award in the film category at the '60th Baeksang Arts Awards.' Sound supervisor Kim Byung-in, who was responsible for the sound design of the film "Pamyoh," received the award.
Supervisor Kim Byung-in said, "When director Jang Jae-hyun and music director Kim Tae-sung joked that we might win an award while we were deeply focused on the sound work for Pamyoh, I was very surprised," adding, "It is a great honor to be on the Baeksang stage and receive the Artistic Award for sound work."
LiveTone put a lot of effort into the completeness of the work. From the early production stages, they introduced Dolby Atmos sound to provide the audience with a vivid theater experience. To highlight the eerie characteristics of the entity, they designed cross-mixed sound to be heard through speakers installed all around.
LiveTone CEO Choi Tae-young said, "This is an example of positive synergy within the group, where LiveTone's sound and the parent company Dexter Studio's video color grading met to enhance the details of the work," and added, "We will continue to create good content that contributes to the development of the Korean film industry by utilizing technology and artistry."
