[President Yoon Press Conference] Reform New Party: "President Yoon Merely Repeats Previous Position"

The Reform New Party criticized President Yoon Seok-yeol's 2nd anniversary press conference, saying "most of the content was just a repetition of existing positions."

On the 9th, Ju Isaak, spokesperson for the Reform New Party, said in a statement, "Since his presidential candidacy, President Yoon has always tried to bounce back with some action whenever his approval ratings faced a crisis, but it seems difficult to expect that anymore."

Spokesperson Ju added, "While we appreciate the purpose of reporting the president's stance on current livelihood issues, most of the content was just a repetition of existing positions, making it difficult to give a new evaluation."

He continued, "The public has lost trust in President Yoon," and questioned, "Isn't that why the ruling party has been defeated from the recent by-election for the Gangseo District Office to the 22nd general election?"

Spokesperson Ju pointed out, "The problem is that no proactive message was delivered to restore that trust," adding, "For example, in the president's so-called 'report to the nation' speech, current political issues that severely damage trust, such as the ‘Special Prosecutor for Chae Sang-byeong’, the president's veto exercise, and factional politics centered around President Yoon, were not addressed."

He also added, "The event showed that President Yoon's awareness of reality is still lacking, as there was no progressive change in the president's stance on issues like medical school expansion and the Special Prosecutor for Chae Sang-byeong."

Party leader candidate Lee Ki-in also criticized on his Facebook that day, saying, "Geumjjok-i can improve sufficiently with expert attention and careful affection, but the president cannot," and "self-praise was still prevalent throughout the speech, and only empty slogans about doing better in the future were listed."
