[Special Stock] Faber Nine Acquires Samsung's 136 Trillion Market Ultrasound AI Sonio... Joint Development of Ultrasound Diagnostic Device Components Up

Fabernine is showing strength. It is interpreted to be influenced by the news that Samsung Medison acquired a French ultrasound artificial intelligence (AI) medical device company.

As of 1:24 PM on the 9th, Fabernine is trading at 3,545 KRW, up 3.2% from the previous day.

The day before, Samsung announced that through its medical device subsidiary Samsung Medison, it had signed a contract to acquire 100% of the shares of Sonio, a French ultrasound AI medical device startup, for 126.5 billion KRW.

Founded in 2020, Sonio developed obstetrics and gynecology ultrasound diagnostic software (SW). It is a program that helps doctors accurately and quickly check and manage patients' diagnostic histories and more. Last August, its AI diagnostic software for obstetrics, 'Detect,' which automatically recognizes diagnostic sections for fetal condition measurement, received sales approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), establishing the company as one with considerable technological capabilities.

Samsung expects to take the lead in the AI medical device market through the acquisition of Sonio. Samsung Medison's main products are ultrasound medical devices 'V7' and 'V8.' These devices are used not only in obstetrics and gynecology but also in radiology, orthopedics, and various other medical departments. Samsung explains that applying Sonio's AI diagnostic technology to these products will improve accuracy and speed in ultrasound interpretation, thereby saving time and costs.

Meanwhile, Fabernine supplies parts for ultrasound diagnostic devices and X-rays through precision aluminum alloy processing. Its main customer is Samsung Medison. Starting in 2001 with registration as a partner for aluminum material processed products with Samsung, it has maintained a supplier system with Samsung Electronics for over 20 years. It also jointly developed aluminum parts used in medical devices such as X-rays and ultrasound diagnostic devices with Samsung Electronics.
