Gunmun Bridge serves as a gateway connecting downtown Pyeongtaek and the Camp Humphreys U.S. military base. The city received 1.5 billion KRW in special adjustment grants from Gyeonggi Province to install LED landscape lighting on the 360-meter-long Gunmun Bridge.

The city explained that, especially considering light pollution prevention, it refrained from excessive lighting on Gunmun Bridge and aimed to create environmentally friendly lighting that harmonizes with the natural river scenery. Additionally, lighting displays will be operated diversely, taking into account normal periods, event times, and seasons.

Meanwhile, about 150 people, including Pyeongtaek Mayor Jeong Jang-seon, city and provincial council members, and local residents, attended the lighting event. Mayor Jeong stated, "We will continue to discover various landscape projects to diversify local attractions and entertainment."

Meanwhile, Pyeongtaek City plans to complete the 'Sunset Ecological Cultural Park' project, currently underway around Gunmun Bridge, within this year. This project involves installing waterfront facilities such as riverside walking paths, waterside plazas, water play areas, and observation decks on 300,000 square meters of the Anseongcheon Riverside Area.
