[President Yoon's Press Conference] Democratic Party: "Stubborn President Yoon... No Reflection on State Affairs Management"

The Democratic Party of Korea criticized President Yoon Seok-yeol's 2nd anniversary press conference, saying there was "no reflection on state administration."

Han Min-su, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, stated at a briefing at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul on the 9th, "This press conference came after the desperate cry of the people to change the state administration policy in the 22nd general election, but it was filled with self-praise that no one could sympathize with," adding, "There was no reflection on state administration." He continued, "How long must the people despair at President Yoon's stubbornness?" and emphasized, "It is very regrettable in that it clearly showed how complacently President Yoon perceives the current situation of the Republic of Korea and its people."

Han pointed out, "President Yoon still does not understand why nearly 70% of the people do not support the state administration and why they judged him in the general election," adding, "In particular, he clearly showed no willingness to accept the special investigation laws on the stock manipulation allegations involving First Lady Kim Keon-hee, which is a command from the people, and the special investigation law on the alleged investigation interference in the case of Corporal Chae." Furthermore, he explained, "He once again confirmed that First Lady Kim is an untouchable sanctuary," and "He made the people feel disheartened by saying that we should just watch the investigation agencies, whose investigations on the Corporal Chae special investigation law have already been at a standstill for several months."

Han said, "President Yoon's 2nd anniversary press conference thoroughly shattered the expectations of our people who hope for a renewal of the state administration policy," and stated, "The Democratic Party will do its utmost to check and correct the Yoon administration that has turned its back on the people according to the people's command."

On the same day, President Yoon held the "Yoon Seok-yeol Government 2-Year National Report and Press Conference" at the Presidential Office in Yongsan, Seoul, in the morning. President Yoon said, "I apologize for causing concern to the people due to my wife's unwise conduct," but added, "A special investigation is conducted only when there is suspicion of inadequate investigation by the designated agency."
