Gurye-gun, Thankful on Parents' Day "Hyo" Event

On the 8th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do, held a gratitude event called "Thank You 'Hyo'" to promote filial piety and express appreciation to the local elderly in celebration of the 52nd Parents' Day.

The event was conducted according to the circumstances of each eup and myeon, where eup and myeon chiefs and public officials visited the homes of elderly people living alone to deliver carnations and roll cakes.

County Governor Kim Soon-ho visited the Gurye-gun Senior Nursing Home to express his gratitude to the elderly and wished that the Parents' Day event would remain a meaningful and joyful memory for both the elderly and their families.

He also personally served food to about 100 elderly people at the senior dining hall inside the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center while checking on their well-being.

One elderly person said, "My children are always busy and cannot come on Parents' Day, so I am glad and happy that the county governor visited me personally like this."

Governor Kim Soon-ho said, "We will always remember the grace and love of our parents and continue to implement meticulous care policies so that the elderly can enjoy a happy and healthy life."
