The Bank of Korea announced on the 9th that Governor Lee Chang-yong departed on the 10th to attend the 'Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Governors Meeting' held in Basel, Switzerland, and is scheduled to return on the 15th.
Governor Lee is expected to attend the Global Economy Meeting, the Meeting of Governors and Heads of Supervision, among others. At these meetings, he will discuss the recent global economic and financial market conditions with central bank governors.
Additionally, as the Chair of the Committee on the Global Financial System (CGFS), he will lead discussions among key central bank officials on global financial issues. In his capacity as a BIS director, he will also participate in the BIS Board of Directors and the Economic Consultative Committee.
Furthermore, on the 14th, he will participate as a panelist in the 'Swiss National Bank (SNB)-IMF High-Level Conference' held in Zurich, Switzerland, where he will discuss topics such as the Global Financial Safety Net.
