The Gyeongbuk School Operation Committee Chairpersons' Council held a regular meeting on the 8th at the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, attended by 22 city and county council chairpersons, and elected the council president and other executives for 2024.
As a result of the election, Choi Daemyeong, Chairperson of the Yeongju Council (Chairperson of Yeonggwang High School), was elected as the council president; Kim Jongmin, Chairperson of the Uljin Council (Chairperson of Uljin Nambu Elementary School), as the senior vice president; Lee Seungwook, Chairperson of the Pohang Council (Chairperson of Daedong Middle School), and Choi Ilseong, Chairperson of the Cheongsong Council (Chairperson of Dopyeong Elementary School), as vice presidents; Do Myeongheum, Chairperson of the Mungyeong Council (Chairperson of Jeomchon High School), as secretary general; Kim Minwook, Chairperson of the Gumi Council (Chairperson of Gumi Wangsang Elementary School), as financial director; and Seo Youngjin, Chairperson of the Andong Council (Chairperson of Andong Elementary School), and Han Sangwoo, Chairperson of the Yecheon Council (Chairperson of Yecheon Middle School), as auditors.
Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Education, Choi Dae-myeong, President of the Gyeongbuk School Operation Committee Council, and other newly elected executives and members are gathered in one place for a commemorative photo.
During the regular meeting, the annual schedule and activity plans for 2024 were discussed, along with in-depth discussions on the roles, authority, and function expansion plans of school operation committee members, as well as plans to revitalize the operation of regional councils.
President Choi Daemyeong stated, “The School Operation Committee will serve as a stepping stone in creating a diverse and creative educational environment at school sites,” and pledged, “Going forward, the School Operation Committee will take the lead in promoting communication among schools, parents, and the local community for the advancement of education in Gyeongbuk.”
