Now in its fourth year, this event sought to explore directions on how to strengthen cooperation between the two regions in digital transformation and supply chain sectors, centered on the ‘ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA)’ announced last November.

At the event, Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General for the ASEAN Economic Community of the ASEAN Secretariat, and Kim Chang-beom, Vice Chairman of the Korea Economic Association (former Ambassador to Indonesia), delivered keynote speeches presenting their perspectives on the global economic outlook from the viewpoints of ASEAN and Korea, respectively.

ASEAN has been strongly driving digital transformation since the COVID-19 pandemic. The necessity of cooperation with Korea, a powerhouse in the digital economy, is also rapidly emerging.

Secretary-General Kim Jae-shin stated, "In the rapidly changing global trade environment deepened by the trend of nationalism, it is necessary for Korea and ASEAN to strengthen cooperation and discuss practical strategic plans based on the external strategies of both regions."
