The Department of Nursing at U1 University announced on the 10th that it has obtained certification in the '2024 First Half Nursing Education Accreditation Evaluation' conducted by the Korea Accreditation Board of Nursing Education.
In this evaluation, the Department of Nursing at U1 University passed the document review and on-site evaluation with excellent results across 27 items in 14 sections within 6 areas including vision and operational system, curriculum, students, faculty, facilities and equipment, and educational outcomes, proving the excellence of its curriculum.
Since obtaining its first nursing education accreditation in 2015, U1 University has maintained its certification to date. With this certification, it will officially maintain its status as an operating institution of the 'Bachelor of Nursing Program' for the next five years until 2029.
Kang Jeong-hee, head of the Department of Nursing, said, “Through this accreditation evaluation, the overall education of the Department of Nursing at U1 University has been verified, and we will strive to create better conditions for high-quality nursing education and nurture glocal nursing talents as a milestone of the five-year certification.”
According to the revision of the Medical Service Act, since 2012, only graduates from nursing departments accredited through the nursing education accreditation evaluation are eligible to take the national nursing examination.
The Department of Nursing at U1 University started with a quota of 30 students in 2007 and has steadily increased its quota to 40 in 2020, 50 in 2021, 60 in 2022, and 74 in 2023. This year, it received approval for an additional quota of 26 students, and plans to recruit 100 freshmen in the 2025 academic year.
