On the 7th, the National Police Agency's YouTube channel uploaded a video titled "Man Who Climbed Onto Overturned Truck." According to the video, around 6:20 a.m. on the 19th of last month, a white 3-ton cargo truck tipped over to the left at the entrance of Daedeok Tunnel in Doryong-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. The truck was completely overturned at a 90-degree angle, leaving the driver unable to escape on his own, and the cargo loaded in the back had also spilled out.

The driver of a vehicle equipped with a black box, who witnessed this, got out of the car and without hesitation ran to the cargo truck, climbed up through the passenger door, opened it, and safely rescued the driver trapped inside the truck. While the driver briefly took shelter on the shoulder, the man skillfully began directing traffic by waving his arms.

The man who happened to witness the accident scene was identified as Police Lieutenant Lee Geun-ok of the Daejeon Yuseong Police Station. Lieutenant Lee, who was returning home after a night shift, immediately reported the incident to the police, rescued the truck driver, and to prevent secondary accidents, personally waved a warning baton that he usually kept in his trunk to control traffic. He guarded the road until the patrol car arrived, then handed over the scene to the police and left.

Lieutenant Lee said, "I thought the risk of a secondary accident was high, so as soon as I witnessed the accident scene, my only thought was to rescue the driver trapped in the vehicle," adding, "Any police officer would have acted the same way as I did." He also stated, "I will continue to do my best as a police officer to protect the lives, bodies, and property of the people."

Netizens left comments such as "Our Korean police working hard even on their way home," "Police officers who protect the people are awesome," and "Fortunately, if the situation hadn't been handled quickly, there might have been additional accidents."
