Lim Young-woong and Na Hoon-a Take 1st and 2nd Place Respectively
Club Activities More Active Among Middle-aged Groups
Which singer's concert would people want to attend with their parents on Parents' Day? It was found that singer Lim Young-woong, who has become the 'trend' among middle-aged and older generations, and Na Hoon-a, who is currently on his final nationwide tour after announcing his retirement, ranked first and second respectively.
Focus Media Korea, the operator of Korea's number one Elevator TV, released the "Focus Media Apartment Residents Trend Report: Parents' Day Edition" on the 8th. Focus Media conducted an online survey over the past month targeting 2,212 people aged 25 to 59, asking about the "singer concert they would like to give as a filial gift to their parents."
As a result, Lim Young-woong (47%) took first place, followed by Na Hoon-a (20%) in second. Other singers who made the rankings included △Jang Yoon-jung (10%) △Song Ga-in (7%) △Lee Chan-won (5%).
As for popular travel destinations for filial trips, Japan (40%), which is attracting tourists worldwide due to the weak yen, ranked first. Vietnam (33%), popular for package tours, came in second, followed by Taiwan (15%) in third. Other popular destinations included Thailand (12%) and Guam (5%). Additionally, it was found that children prefer package tours (65%) nearly twice as much as free travel (35%) when taking filial trips.
The older the parents of the MZ generation, the more actively they engage in offline activities. Among age groups who have experienced offline club activities at least once in the past year, those aged 50 and above (66%) were the most active, followed by those in their 40s (56%), 20s (54%), and 30s (52%). This shows a tendency for older age groups to actively participate in social gatherings based on common hobbies and interests.
In this regard, Kang Seul-gi, team leader of the Data Strategy Team at Focus Media Korea, analyzed, "As the senior market grows due to the active economic and social activities of parents with adult children, advertising and marketing targeting this demographic are also increasing."
