Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) announced on the 7th that it opened the Seoul-type Safe Care Home 'Seokgwan Silver Home' (278 Hwarang-ro) on the 2nd.
The Seoul-type Safe Care Home is a facility where elderly people who need assistance due to senile diseases such as dementia, stroke, and Parkinson's disease can receive care in a home-like environment by applying the 'Safe Care Home Standard' prepared by Seoul City to the Seoul-type 'Elderly Nursing Shared Living Home.'
Seokgwan-dong has a large elderly population, with 23.1% (7,814 people) aged 65 or older, but there were no elderly nursing facilities, causing significant inconvenience. However, with the establishment of Seokgwan Silver Home, the elderly can now enjoy a home-like nursing environment near their homes.
The district was selected last year for the city’s 'Seoul-type Safe Care Home' public contest project, completed remodeling construction and installation notification in March this year. It is expected to continue receiving active support from the city. Mayor Lee Seung-ro said, “We will make various efforts to realize Seongbuk as an age-friendly city, using this as a cornerstone.”
