According to Nam-gu on the 7th, the Tourism Dure project is a regional tourism industry revitalization initiative hosted and organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization. It supports the establishment of resident businesses by enabling residents to commercialize accommodations, food and beverage, travel, experiences, leisure, and tourism souvenirs that have unique local characteristics.

The recruitment target is resident communities of three or more people who are planning to start a new business or wish to improve their management.

Applications will be accepted through the Tourism Dure website until the 24th, and resident businesses wishing to participate should consult with Tourism Dure PD Choi Young-woo before submitting their application.

Selected resident businesses in the Tourism Dure project will receive support for capacity-building education and consulting, pilot projects, legal and tax services, up to a maximum of 110 million KRW for up to five years.

Detailed information can be found on the Tourism Dure website.

Earlier, on April 25, Nam-gu held the '2024 Gwangju Nam-gu Tourism Dure Project Resident Briefing Session' at the basement first floor performance hall of Yangnim-dong Administrative Welfare Center.

Many residents interested in the Tourism Dure project participated, and attendees had time to resolve their questions through Q&A sessions, including successful cases from other regions.

Tourism Dure PD Choi Young-woo said, "Nam-gu has many excellent tourism resources, such as Yangnim-dong Historical and Cultural Village, which was selected as one of Korea’s Top 100 Tourist Attractions," and added, "We ask for the active interest and participation of resident communities in the Tourism Dure project to create a sustainable tourism ecosystem."
