Department of Air Traffic Management, Topic: 'Future Aviation Industry Policy'
The Department of Air Traffic Management at Silla University (President Heo Nam-sik) held a special lecture titled "Future Aviation Industry Policy and Workforce Development Direction," inviting Seo Hun-taek, former Director of the Aviation Policy Office at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
On the 2nd, the Department of Air Traffic Management at Silla University hosted a special lecture for corporate stakeholders by inviting an expert in aviation policy from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, providing students with an opportunity to learn about the current status and policy directions of the domestic aviation industry.
Seo Hun-taek, former director and currently an advisor at Sharp Aviation K, explained key initiatives of future domestic aviation industry policies during the lecture, including ▲building a new paradigm for the aviation industry ▲creating new aviation demand ▲securing world-class aviation safety and security ▲driving regional economic growth through airport platforms, and shared opinions with students on the expected effects of the Gadeokdo New Airport.
Cho Hyun-jun, a student of the Department of Air Traffic Management at Silla University who attended the lecture, said, "With Urban Air Mobility (UAM) expected to be commercialized as a new growth engine for the aviation industry, I believe the future prospects of the Department of Air Traffic Management, which aims to train air traffic controllers, are bright. I will make various efforts to develop not only my academic skills but also practical field capabilities to achieve my dream of becoming an aviation expert."
Lee Doo-hyung, head of the Department of Air Traffic Management at Silla University, expressed, "We thank former Director Seo Hun-taek for preparing the special lecture, and hope it was a time for students to envision the future of the aviation industry and grow further. We are committed to training air traffic controllers through specialized education related to aviation safety and security, aircraft ground handling, and the air traffic controller qualification course, and we also plan to establish a Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport-certified 'Professional Air Traffic Controller Training Institution.'"
The Department of Air Traffic Management at Silla University is conducting a project to establish a "Professional Air Traffic Controller Training Institution" by 2025, following its selection as a RIS autonomous task by Busan City.
Silla University is holding a special lecture by Seohun Taek, former Director of the Aviation Policy Office at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and taking a commemorative photo with the students.
