Doosan Robotics Unveils Palletizing-Dedicated Robot at U.S. Exhibition

Maximum Load 30kg · Working Radius 2m Industry's Highest Specification

Doosan Robotics has entered the North American market by unveiling a new collaborative robot product at the largest automation technology and robotics exhibition in North America.

Doosan Robotics announced on the 7th that it is participating in 'Automate 2024,' held from the 6th to the 9th (local time) in Chicago, USA. Automate is an exhibition where global companies related to automation systems, robots, and motion control showcase their products, technologies, and solutions.

At this exhibition, Doosan Robotics introduced its collaborative robot lineup P Series (P3020) for the first time. This robot specializes in palletizing, which involves arranging or stacking items on pallets during logistics and transportation processes. It has a maximum payload capacity of 30kg, which is the highest in the industry, and a working radius of 2030mm, also an industry-leading level.

In particular, by applying gravity compensation technology, the product is relatively lighter and consumes less power compared to competitors with similar specifications. It can perform palletizing tasks up to 2 meters high without auxiliary lifting equipment, and it has secured the industry's highest safety rating (PLe, Cat4) considering the safety of workers working alongside it.

Palletizing solutions are used in various fields such as manufacturing, logistics, and food and beverage, and demand has recently been increasing not only domestically but also in North America and Europe. According to market research firm Fact.MR, the palletizing robot market is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 9.4%, reaching $10.156 billion (approximately 13.2 trillion KRW) by 2033.

Doosan Robotics achieved about 72% market share in the collaborative robot market with payloads over 20kg in 2022. It has supplied palletizing solutions to global clients such as the manufacturing plant of the German chemical company Wacker Korea branch and Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands.

Additionally, Doosan Robotics introduced collaborative robot solutions for food and beverage and manufacturing sectors using its proprietary software platform 'DART Suite.' It showcased products such as the 'AI-powered cocktail making' and the unmanned modular robot cafe 'DR.Presso,' which were unveiled at CES 2024 in January.

For manufacturing solutions, it also introduced ▲ AI vision sensor-based depalletizing (product sorting), ▲ machine tending (loading raw materials and unloading finished products), ▲ welding, and ▲ sanding & polishing (surface finishing and polishing).

Jung-hoon Ryu, CEO of Doosan Robotics, said, "We plan to expand the exhibition booth size and diversify collaborative robot solutions to actively promote Doosan Robotics’ technological capabilities and product excellence. We will launch the P Series within this year to expand our product lineup and strengthen overseas corporate sales to further increase our sales scale in the global collaborative robot market."

Meanwhile, Doosan Robotics established its U.S. subsidiary, Doosan Robotics America, in Plano, Texas, in 2022, and plans to actively pursue overseas expansion by establishing a European branch in D?sseldorf, Germany, in the first half of this year.
