FSS Holds FSS Financial Academy... Strengthening Financial Capabilities of MZ Generation

Sharing Financial Knowledge and Experience with Financial Consumers

The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) announced on the 7th that it will hold the 2024 'FSS Financial Academy,' a financial disclosure lecture series for the general public, starting from the 22nd and continuing every last Thursday of the month at the FSS Training Institute.

This year’s program is designed with customized lectures to help the MZ generation, who are new to society, properly understand domestic and international financial conditions and strengthen their financial capabilities. The first lecture on the 22nd will be given by Oh Geon-young, team leader of Shinhan Bank WM Center and author of "The Great Wealth Shift," who will discuss global market issues such as exchange rates, interest rates, and inflation. Those wishing to participate can apply by the 13th on the FSS e-Financial Education Center website.

The general course will cover a variety of topics relevant to understanding domestic and international financial situations and tailored themes for the MZ generation (a total of 7 topics). In June, there will be lectures on blockchain technology and virtual assets; in July, on desirable stock investment; in September, on desirable bond investment; in October, on how to use Dart and cases of disclosure violations and measures; also in October, on financial crime victim cases and prevention methods; and in November, on understanding support systems for low-income finance.

The advanced course will be offered to selected participants who have obtained a certificate of completion for the general course (attended 5 or more sessions). It will be held over two days in August, covering more specialized and practically applicable knowledge about the digital financial market (a total of 7 topics). The August lectures will include ▲ recent status of the fintech industry ▲ use of economic indicators for financial market analysis ▲ understanding and cases of real estate project financing (PF) and REITs ▲ introduction and utilization of private data dams ▲ understanding the insurance industry ▲ precautions when subscribing to indemnity insurance ▲ wisdom in everyday investment and asset management.

Since 2011, the FSS has been holding the FSS Financial Academy annually to enhance financial literacy among the general public, including university students, and to nurture financial talent.
