To commemorate the 102nd Children's Day, Pohang City held the "Pohang Children's Day Grand Festival" under the theme "Joy Bang! Bang!" on the 5th at Pohang Hwanho Park.
About 3,000 children and local residents attended the event, making it a great success. Many distinguished guests, including heads of local organizations, visited the venue to celebrate Children's Day and delivered enthusiastic congratulatory messages wishing the children to grow into healthy and happy adults.
The Children's Day event began with pre-ceremony performances such as bubble and magic shows and broadcast dance, followed by a commemorative ceremony featuring the reading of the Children's Rights Charter and awards for exemplary children. After the ceremony, celebratory performances including a dance show and clown performance took place.
After the performances, a "Challenge OX Quiz King" quiz competition was held, sparking intense competition among children vying for the quiz champion title.
Additionally, the venue featured exciting hands-on experiences with a Marine Corps armored vehicle, fire safety experience vehicle, and police motorcycle, where children eagerly lined up to wear uniforms and ride the vehicles.
Various experience booths were set up throughout the venue, offering activities such as a talent shop, photo booth, face painting, augmented reality traffic safety experience, CPR training, fire safety experience, traditional wedding ceremony experience, and flowerpot stand making, all of which received enthusiastic responses from the children.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok conveyed his congratulatory message, saying, "I sincerely congratulate the 102nd Children's Day and hope that children will play joyfully, study hard, and experience various things to grow into wonderful leaders of Pohang."
