Cooperative System Among Related Agencies to Prevent Early Disaster Damage Expansion

Korea National Oil Corporation (President Kim Dong-seop) conducted the "2024 Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill," organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, on the 3rd at the Ulsan Oil Storage Base in cooperation with Ulju-gun.

The Oil Corporation was selected as a pilot training institution this year after receiving an excellent grade in the 2023 Safe Korea Drill evaluation.

On this day, more than 180 people from 12 organizations, including the Oil Corporation, Ulju-gun, the Army 7765 Unit, and Ulju Police Station, participated and conducted response training assuming an actual disaster occurrence situation to check the cooperation system with related organizations.

This drill was conducted assuming a complex disaster situation where a landslide caused by guerrilla heavy rain damaged crude oil pipelines, leading to leakage, explosion, and fire resulting in casualties.

The drill was carried out in a way to check the cooperation system of related organizations and evaluate actual response capabilities in the event of a disaster.

Through this drill, the Oil Corporation focused on establishing a rapid and organic cooperation and response system with related organizations to prevent the spread of damage and minimize casualties and property damage in the event of a disaster.

In addition, the drill was conducted realistically by actively utilizing the national disaster safety communication network to quickly share situations and respond with related organizations.

Kim Dong-seop, President of Korea National Oil Corporation, said, "This was an opportunity to strengthen our capability to actively respond to national crisis situations and emergencies," adding, "We must always maintain a response system to protect the lives and safety of the people."
