Marine Park? Nangman Pocha Area, Price Stabilization Campaign
Encouraging Voluntary Participation of Merchants
Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) has launched an initiative to create a Turtle Ship Festival free of overcharging.
According to the city, on the 1st, more than 20 people including public officials, consumer groups, and price monitoring personnel conducted a campaign to promote price stability around the Marine Park and Romantic Pocha area.
On that day, participants encouraged restaurant merchants around Marine Park, a commercial area mainly visited by tourists, to voluntarily join efforts to eradicate overcharging, implement price labeling, and indicate the origin of products to maintain fair trade practices.
They also requested active cooperation in building Yeosu’s image as a place visitors want to return to by providing friendly service, in connection with the ‘Renaissance Together Kindness Practice Citizen Movement,’ while appealing to citizens to use reasonably priced businesses.
In preparation for this Turtle Ship Festival, Yeosu City is focusing on △organizing price stability inspection teams △operating price management booths at event sites △checking compliance with price labeling △promoting reasonably priced businesses, making every effort to stabilize prices during the festival period.
A city official stated, “To eradicate overcharging and stabilize prices, active participation from merchants and citizens is necessary,” adding, “The city will do its best so that both citizens and tourists can enjoy the festival with joy.”
