Goheung Buncheong Sagi Media Art, Launches Intensive Promotion

Goheung Aerospace Festival, Royal Culture Festival Promotion Booths

Cultural Heritage Administration Collaborates with Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation for Joint Promotion Activities

Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Yeong-min) Buncheong Culture Museum announced that it will begin full-scale promotional activities from May in preparation for the ‘2024 National Heritage Media Art Goheung Buncheong Ceramics Site’ event to be held in September.


The National Heritage Media Art project is a nighttime event program that reinterprets Korea’s traditional national heritage with a modern perspective and technology, allowing people to enjoy it anew through media art. This year, it will be held in seven cities including Goheung-gun.

The event, hosted by Goheung-gun, will take place from September 13 to October 6 for a total of 24 days at the Goheung Buncheong Culture Museum and the Buncheong Ceramics Site Park. It will showcase more than ten diverse digital artworks and various programs that illuminate the autumn nights of Goheung.


In preparation for this event, the county will operate experience and promotional booths at the ‘14th Goheung Aerospace Festival’ held from May 4 to 6, and simultaneously offer experiential programs where visitors can directly participate in media art works.


Additionally, from April 26 to May 5, the county will join the promotional booths at the ‘2024 Royal Culture Festival’ held at five palaces including Gyeongbokgung, organized by the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, promoting the event to tourists nationwide including the metropolitan area. The event will be actively promoted at all events hosted by the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation.


Through various promotional activities such as the Buncheong Ceramics Media Art Contest and the Buncheong SNS Promotion Team, which are being launched in earnest, it is expected to widely publicize the charm of beautiful media art combined with Goheung-gun’s splendid ceramic culture and captivate many visitors.


A county official said, “Through the National Heritage Media Art, the first of its kind in Jeonnam, we aim to inspire visitors with the artisan spirit of Buncheong ceramic craftsmen reborn through digital technology, and it is expected to serve as an opportunity to widely promote the value of Buncheong ceramics, Goheung’s representative national heritage, through events involving local residents.”
